Konzert im Haus für Mozart mit Rolando Villazón

Der mit Spannung erwartete Abend im Haus für Mozart von Rolando Villazón im Rahmen der Mozartwoche ist ein wenig dürftig ausgefallen. Denn Villazón sang lediglich 3 Arien. Aber stimmlich war dieser Auftritt weit entfernt von dürftig. Denn der mexikanische Tenor zeigte sich flexibel, manchmal auch mit ein wenig baritonalen Timbre. Er verehrt und liebt Mozart, diesen Komponisten. Dieses Wunderkind, das sich Zeitlebens kein Blatt vor den Mund nahm, musikalisch wie im Privatleben, fasziniert ihn. In einem Interview erwähnte er, er lese furchtbar gerne Mozarts Briefe. Na bitte, was liegt da näher, als ihn auch zu singen. So oder ähnlich mag Villazón gedacht haben.

Also: Die erste Arie sollte jene des Ottavio aus „Don Giovanni“ werden. Die weich und feinsinnig  interpretierte Arie „Il mio tesoro“ ließ das Publikum begeistert applaudieren. Wiewohl man nicht erwarten könnte, dass Villazón aus dem Stand heraus ein Mozart-Tenor wird, beeindruckte er mit dem untrüglichen Gefühl für diese Musik. Er möchte sich annähern und anfreunden, das merkt man.

Danach folgte die seltene Konzertarie „Aura, che intorno spiri“ (KV 431), die er ebenfalls mit Gefühl interpretierte. Feine Kunst war hier ebenso gefragt, denn die harten Töne haben bei Mozart eher nichts verloren.

Schließlich ließ Rolando Villazón „nur einen Wunsch, nur ein Verlangen“ offen, bei der Arie des Pylades aus „Iphigenie auf Tauris“ von Gluck. Nämlich die erste Arie noch einmal zu wiederholen. Und das tat er.
